A Star is Born
There is no doubt about it. Video reigned supreme this week. In countless Zooms, Chats, Conferences, Hangouts, morning welcomes, and virtual story times, teachers connected with students and we connected with each other.
Here are a few of the highlights...

Kickin' It
Everyone has an opinion when it comes to education. As someone who has lived in the community where they have taught, administrated, and coordinated for the past 6 years, I am used to frequently hearing those unsolicited opinions. This week I was thrilled to get many messages like this from my parent friends:The truth is that parents instantly had a front row seat to seeing teachers in action as they were suddenly live streamed into living rooms and kitchens. The eyes of many parents have been opened to what teachers do every day and they have been blown away. That transparency could be a ray of sunshine in this whole mess.
Dropping the Kids Off at the Pool
Hat's off to the teacher who set a new standard for student engagement this week. The Zoom session that they were facilitating was so engrossing that when nature came calling a student decided to take their Chromebook to the bathroom with them. Their fellow meeting attendees got quite a show. The rest of us got a new set of norms to review.Spare a Square?
Finally, thank you to the wise guy who responded to our survey question,"What else would you like more support with?":
"Do you guys have toilet paper? :):):):)"
