Imagine a world in which there are no grades, physical classrooms, or even attendance. How do we get students to show up? We engage them! We take the natural curiosity and desire to learn that every single one of us has and we exploit that to “hook” our students into learning.
We challenge you to build on the successes of the first 8 days of distance learning and think about how you will welcome your students back from Spring Break and engage them right out of the gate.
How could you kick things off with:
- a theme that will tie all of the learning for the week together?
- a mystery that they must solve?
- a story with plot twists that they must work through?
- a challenge or obstacle they must overcome?
- a virtual journey or treasure hunt where they will gather information or clues at each stop?
Challenge
Create a hook that will surprise your students and engage them in distance learning when they return from Spring Break.
